Ibiza offers wonders and entertainment for all ages and tastes. From modern cultural proposals, such as its world-famous discotheques, to spectacular sunsets in the coves. In addition to this, there are some incredible old buildings that must be visited. We tell you which are the 7 places of Ibiza that you can not miss if you visit the island.
1. Dalt Vila
The first thing you will notice when disembarking in Ibiza are the high walls crowning a slope of white and colourful houses. The dark tonality and the solemn air give proof of its charm and its antiquity. The Dalt Vila or “upper quarter” was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
To visit the art galleries, to appreciate the majestic palatial houses and to walk inside the walls, you will need a whole day. If you climb to the top, the view will be an experience you will not forget.
Whatever your age, if you choose Ibiza it’s because the young spirit beats in your heart. Don’t remain with the desire to enter their famous discotheques, each one of them has a history and a very special essence.
Bora Bora is part of Playa D’En Bossa and is a club for spectacular parties that have no time or clock. If you like the crowds and the festive atmosphere, you have to consider this option.
For its part, Amnesia has been awarded three times with the “Best Global Club”. Other famous discotheques are Pachá, Privilege, Supermartxé, Ocean Beach, Paradis and Ushuaïa Besch Hotel, which has innovated in the world of discotheque combining swimming pool and DJ.
Also known as “hippy markets”, these are places with a bohemian presence from the 1960s and 1970s. A delight in colour, shape, texture and aromas, they will make you feel for a few hours that you are in another world. What can you find in them? You will be able to get your own personalised jewellery, very original garments, handmade leather sandals and exotic adornments to decorate your home.
Two of the most popular of these markets throughout the island are: “El Mercado de las Dalias” and Punta Arabi. The first takes place in San Carlos on Saturdays. The second takes place on Wednesdays in Es Canar.
4. Es Vedrà
We are referring to the incredible rock that sprouts from the sea and has dazzled those who observe it since ancient times. It is located next to the archaeological findings of Cala d’Hort, and can be seen from the summit of Sa Pedrera.
5. Caves of Can Marçà
The mysteries of the earth are more than present in Ibiza. The caves of the cliffs of Port de Sant Miguel, in the north of the island, surprise those who reach these lands. The part of the caves needs 40 minutes to be appreciated in depth.
In this magical corner, you will find a wonderful natural collection of stalagmites, stalactites, lakes that look like swimming pools and magical waterfalls.
6. The Salinas
Every corner of the island holds a hidden treasure. In the case of the salt flats, towards the centre of the island, you will be surprised by the white and radiant bed left by the evaporated waters during the summer.
The sunsets on Ibiza are something unique. And if you have the opportunity to appreciate one in Benirràs or Café del Mar, it will be an unforgettable experience.
If you like to enjoy new sensations and places full of charm and magic, Ibiza is a paradise to discover.
